In Finland most people sell or buy through a licensed real estate agent (kiinteistonvalittaja), and they typically find one via the big property portals Etuovi and Oikotie, by asking agents active in their own neighbourhood, or through personal recommendations. It is common to ask two or three agents for a valuation and quote before deciding.

How to choose a good one
Ask two or three agents for a valuation and written quote, since commissions (often around 4 to 7 percent) are negotiable and valuations should be broadly similar. Check that the firm is in the AVI brokerage register and that the responsible agent holds the LKV qualification, and look at how active the agent is in selling comparable homes in your area.
