Find a local agent

Find and compare a real estate agent in India

In India most people find a property agent (often called a broker or property dealer) through word of mouth, local neighbourhood offices, or the big online property portals where agents post listings. Buyers and sellers usually deal with several local agents at once rather than signing with one.

Where to find and compare agents in India

  • 99acres Property Dealers Directory

A section of the 99acres portal that lists property dealers and real estate agents by city so you can browse their listings and contact them.

  • MagicBricks

A large national property portal where you can search listings by locality and contact the agents or dealers attached to those properties.

  • MahaRERA Registered Agents Search

The Maharashtra RERA official register that lets you confirm an agent is registered by name, registration number, or district; each Indian state runs its own RERA portal with a similar agent search.

  • Free, worldwide Anyone.com

India's real estate marketplace is fragmented across multiple platforms, and most buyers check several sites rather than one. Anyone.com addresses this by functioning as a cross-border listing hub where you can reach both domestic buyers and the substantial NRI population searching internationally. Commission structure in India is fully negotiable at roughly 1% to 2% (set nowhere by law), meaning local brokers compete on service rather than standardized rates; Anyone.com transfers that control back to you by eliminating middlemen entirely. For sellers facing the complexity of TDS rules, state-dependent stamp duty, and capital gains planning, a local RERA-registered agent from the directories above may add valuable guidance, but listing on Anyone.com at the same time is free and gives you entry to a buyer pool that individual brokers seldom access.

How to choose a good one

Speak to two or three local agents who actively work in your specific area and ask about their recent sales nearby, since brokerage is typically negotiable and not fixed. Before committing, check that the agent is registered with your state RERA authority and be clear in writing about the commission and what services it covers.
