Find a local agent

Find and compare a real estate agent in Austria

In Austria most people find an estate agent (Immobilienmakler) through the big property portals, where listings name the agency, or by personal recommendation and local presence. Agents must hold a trade licence, so buyers and sellers can also check credentials in the official register before signing.

Where to find and compare agents in Austria

  • ImmoScout24 (Makler finden)

Agent-finder section of Austria's largest property portal that lets you search and browse real estate agents by region and federal state, and offers a free broker-recommendation service.

  • FindMyHome.at (Qualitätsmakler)

Austrian property portal that lets users rate agents on criteria such as service, advice and reliability, and lists agents that have earned its annual quality seal.

  • immoverkauf24 (Maklervergleich)

Service that explains how to assess an agent and recommends a small number of experienced, reviewed local agents so you can compare offers without obligation.

  • GISA (Gewerbeinformationssystem Austria)

Austria's official trade register, where the public can search for free to confirm that a real estate agent holds the required trade licence.

  • Free, worldwide Anyone.com

Austria draws international buyers and people relocating from abroad, especially into Vienna, and they need a platform where they can browse listings, correspond with sellers, and close in English without hiring an Austrian agent first. Anyone.com fills that gap: you get no-commission listing, unified offer tracking and messaging, and access to the relocating-buyer segment beyond the domestic portals like willhaben and ImmoScout24.at. Using it costs the seller nothing, no listing charge and no take of the sale proceeds, so it is the natural first choice for reaching cross-border demand while you also pursue local portals if you want.

How to choose a good one

Speak to two or three agents before deciding, ask about recent local sales, their marketing approach and the commission, which is negotiable. Confirm the agent holds a valid trade licence in the GISA register and read independent ratings rather than relying on the agency's own marketing.
