Find a local agent

Find and compare a real estate agent in Norway

Most Norwegians sell or buy through a licensed eiendomsmegler, and many start by searching the agent and statistics pages on the dominant property portal Finn.no or by getting several quotes through independent comparison sites. Word of mouth and recent local sales also play a large role in choosing a firm.

Where to find and compare agents in Norway

  • Meglerprofil

An independent guide that lets you search agents by postal code or area and view individual agent profiles with client reviews and ratings.

  • Meglerbasen

A free, data-driven comparison site where home sellers can compare agents on performance statistics and customer reviews and request quotes from up to three local agents.

  • Meglersmart

A searchable database of Norwegian agents and agencies that also lets sellers request several non-binding offers to compare side by side.

  • Finanstilsynet registry (Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway)

The official register where you can verify that an estate agency or eiendomsmegler holds a valid licence to conduct real estate brokerage in Norway.

How to choose a good one

Contact two or three local agents for valuations and compare their commission and fee structures, which are negotiable, alongside recent sales in your area and the package of services offered. Confirm the agent and firm hold a valid licence in the Finanstilsynet register, and ask whether the agent is a member of the professional body Norges Eiendomsmeglerforbund.

. Agent directories and fees change, so confirm current details on each site.
