Find a local agent
Find and compare a real estate agent in Brazil
In Brazil most buyers and sellers find an agent (corretor de imóveis) through large national listing portals, by personal referral, or via a local agency (imobiliária), and many then verify the agent's licence before signing anything. Every practising agent must hold an active CRECI registration with the regional council for their state.
Where to find and compare agents in Brazil
- COFECI / CRECI (official register)
The federal council of real estate brokers and its regional CRECI councils maintain the official register, letting you confirm an agent or agency holds an active licence by name or CRECI number.
- CRECI-SP
The São Paulo regional council, like other state CRECIs, offers a public lookup to check whether a broker's or agency's registration is active and in good standing.
- Viva Real
A large national listings portal where each property shows the broker or agency behind it, so you can browse recent local listings and contact several agents to compare.
- QuintoAndar
A digital buying and renting platform that connects users with partner brokers and lets you rate the broker after each visit, giving some basis for comparison.
- OLX Imóveis
A broad classifieds marketplace where owners, brokers, and agencies list properties, useful for seeing which agents are active in a given neighbourhood.
How to choose a good one
Talk to a few agents who actually sell in your specific neighbourhood, ask to see their active CRECI card, and check recent local sales and reviews (for example on Reclame Aqui or Google) before deciding. Commission is negotiable in Brazil, so confirm the rate and what services it covers in writing.
